In May 2011 the voters of Odell Fire District and Pine Grove Fire District voted to merge the districts, effective July 2011. The name of the new fire district was chosen to be Wy'East Fire District.

The Wy'East Fire District will help preserve and enhance the quality of life by protecting life and property in and around the fire district by providing: Fire suppression, fire prevention, emergency medical services, public awareness programs and other related services. These efforts are accomplished through the dedication of the firefighters and the families that support them.
